In 2014 I was diagnosed with fibroids. Although my mother also had fibroids, it came as a complete shock to me, so I know exactly how you’re feeling right now.
I know how it feels to be overwhelmed with the diagnosis, and then overwhelmed again with information, not knowing what to trust or which option is right for you.
I got help from various online groups and communities, and I created the Rowan Circle to make a space that was even better. I wanted to create one place where women could go to know they were getting the right information, and a place where they could also connect with other women in the same position, in a private space. I’ve been an admin of a busy Facebook Fibroids group for several years and wanted to create a space made specifically for women with fibroids.
I’m not a doctor, but I do love research. I have a Masters degree (in Forensic Science believe it or not), and I love digging for information, and then making sense of what I find. I also love making complex information understandable for everyone. I’ve done this in my career, and now I want to do it for women diagnosed with fibroids who are feeling lost, alone, and overwhelmed. I curate the information for you so you can make the decisions you need to make with the right information, and you know what to discuss with your doctor and/or surgeon.

I hate knowing that there are women all over the world feeling stuck, confused, even panicking about their fibroid diagnosis. I hate the idea that there are scam websites out there just trying to take advantage and scare you into buying their fake products. And I hate that doctors don’t always give the best advice. That’s why I created The Rowan Circle; I really want to help women who are where I was.
